Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association hosts Riding Rookies summer day camps at 24 205015 Highway 512, Lethbridge County, Alberta, six kilometres east of Lethbridge. Each day begins at the Learning Centre at the end of the driveway.

The general camp range is ages 6–17. The confirmed 2026 general-age sessions were July 6–10, July 13–17, July 27–31, August 17–21 and August 24–28. The August 4–7 teen session was specifically ages 10–17. Participants must be physically able to take part in introductory horseback riding and able to follow basic directions. The camp welcomes children with behavioural, developmental or intellectual support needs; external support staff may accompany campers at no cost.

Activities include beginner horseback-riding lessons, grooming and horsemanship, roping fundamentals, gymkhana activities, crafts and water games. Most Wednesdays feature unmounted horse activities because the herd is used for therapeutic programming. The shorter August 4–7 week included Wednesday riding. Instruction focuses on beginners and riders refreshing the basics.

Camp ran 9 a.m.–4 p.m., with arrival and pickup within 8:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.; early drop-off and late pickup were unavailable. Helmets and boots were provided. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required for horse activities. Campers bring a peanut-free lunch, water, weather gear, swimsuit and towel.

These are historical 2026 details, and the operator marked the 2026 season sold out. The youngest-group week is not included in the session details above because its published upper age requires confirmation with the operator. Exact 2027 dates, eligibility and availability have not been confirmed; consult the official camp page for updates.
