YouthWrite hosted historical 2026 overnight writing and filmmaking camps at SR1 Site, 241001 Range Road 42, Rockyview, Alberta T3Z 2X5. Both programmes arrived Sunday evening and finished Friday afternoon. These 2026 registrations are closed; exact 2027 summer programmes are not confirmed.

Peak I Experience, ages 10–14, ran June 28–July 3, 2026. It offered 12 hours of instruction and activities daily, including creative writing, improvisation, world-building, poetry, stop-motion animation, mask-making, yoga and evening programming. Supplies, meals and snacks were included. New campers needed Campfax details, a teacher or mentor reference, answers to four YouthWrite questions and a short writing sample.

Write2Film, ages 14–19, ran July 12–17, 2026, in partnership with the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers. Its nine hours of daily instruction and activities covered screenwriting, directing, acting, camera and lighting, Super 8 film development, editing, music and sound, and a finished short-film screening. Supplies and supervised meals were included. New campers needed Campfax details, a teacher or mentor reference and answers to three Write2Film questions.

Completing the website step alone did not complete registration: all required steps and programme acceptance were necessary. Campers under 18 required parent or guardian permission. Participants were asked to dress for the weather and bring PPE and indoor and outdoor shoes. Confirm future dates, support arrangements and current requirements directly with YouthWrite.
