Canadian Cancer Society Camp Goodtimes offers a free Teen Camp at Camp Pringle, 2520 West Shawnigan Lake Road, Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. Its historical 2026 session was August 14–19. Applications for that season are closed; contact the BC and Yukon camp office at 778-897-2377 or gotcamp@cancer.ca about current programs and eligibility.
Teen Camp is for youth ages 15–18 from British Columbia or the Yukon who have been diagnosed with cancer. Siblings without a cancer diagnosis are not eligible for this particular program. The camp offers peer connection, independence and recreational activities with trained program staff, qualified medical support and social-emotional support on site.
Activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, swimming, archery, climbing and ropes courses, crafts, hiking, baking, music and group games. Teens stay in rustic cabins without electricity; washrooms and showers are in a nearby separate building. Confirm the acceptance package’s transport arrangements: a group option from West Vancouver serves many Lower Mainland participants, while Vancouver Island participants generally arrive by car. Campers may drive themselves but must still bring their medications and completed forms with the required parent signature. Travel assistance may be available in some circumstances through the camp office.
The operator requires proof of up-to-date childhood immunizations; COVID-19 vaccination is optional. Participants on active cancer treatment or newly finished treatment are exempt until revaccination is possible. Its immunization guide also provides exemptions for a medical condition preventing vaccination, to be discussed with the clinical coordinator, and states that participants cannot attend within two weeks after a live vaccine. Confirm all health requirements and exemptions directly with Camp Goodtimes before attending.

The 2026 dates were recorded in the operator’s dated Teen Camp announcement; its current page now marks applications closed.
