MacKenzie Camp hosts summer overnight camps on Mabel Lake, about 35 kilometres east of Enderby, British Columbia. Campers cross the Shuswap River mouth by camp pontoon boat and walk a short distance to the camp property. The Armstrong mailing office and the camper pickup area are not the physical camp. MacKenzie is a United Church of Canada camp that welcomes campers regardless of denomination; its programs are open to every gender.

Historical 2026 sessions: Leadership Training Camp, ages 14–17, July 6–10; Intermediate Camp, ages 10–13, July 13–17; Junior-Intermediate Camp 1, ages 7–13, July 20–24; Junior-Intermediate Camp 2, ages 7–13, July 27–31; Fly Fishing Camp, ages 7–13, July 27–31; Junior-Intermediate Camp 3, ages 7–13, August 4–7; Junior-Intermediate Camp 4, ages 7–13, August 10–14; Performing & Visual Arts Camp, ages 7–13, August 10–14; Teen Camp, ages 13–16, August 17–21. These dates are historical 2026 details, not confirmed 2027 programs.

Activities include canoeing, kayaking, swimming, archery, a low-ropes course, crafts, games, hiking, campfire singing and vespers. Performing & Visual Arts Camp includes theatre, music, visual art and writing, with collaborative projects and a final production. Teen Camp includes night games and theme days and may include an overnight canoe trip on Mabel Lake when weather permits. The climbing wall is decommissioned and is not included among available activities.

The current 2026 youth-camp page changes camper drop-off and pickup to Mabel Lake Farms on Kingfisher Road, turning left just after Kingfisher Community Hall. This update takes precedence over the older upper-parking-lot directions still shown in other documents. Confirm instructions with camp before travelling; the pickup location is separate from the lakeside camp. August 10 sessions and August 17 Teen Camp advertise check-in at 2 p.m. and final-day departure between 2 and 3 p.m.; times for other sessions should be confirmed separately.

The 2026 registration form offers mixed cabins with female or male cabin options and permits one cabinmate request. It asks for health, dietary and medication information and explicitly says tetanus and COVID-19 immunizations are not mandatory. Label all medicines, including over-the-counter medicines, with the camper’s name and give them to the First Aid Attendant at drop-off. Phones and other electronics are prohibited, with a stated exception for personal music players at quiet time and bedtime. Outside food requires the director’s permission for dietary needs. Bring bedding, suitable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes.

Families may choose either of two fee tiers without being asked to justify their choice. Financial assistance is available; campership applicants are directed to the paper campership and registration forms rather than the online registration platform. Use the exact ages for each session above and consult the official website for current schedules, availability, eligibility and arrival arrangements.
