Information we collect

• Accounts and listings: information supplied when creating an account, claiming a listing or managing a plan, such as a name, email address, business details, listing content and account preferences. Published listing information and any public reviews are visible to other visitors.
• Messages: the contact details and message you choose to submit through a contact or camp-inquiry form.
• Transactions: plan, order, payment-status and related billing information. Stripe processes payment-card details through its checkout. We do not intentionally store full payment-card numbers in the directory.
• Technical information: website requests, IP addresses, browser and device information, and operational logs used to deliver the website, maintain security and investigate errors or abuse.
• Optional Analytics: with your permission, information about visits, sessions, approximate province/city, traffic sources, pages viewed and interactions with camp listings.

Some camp details come from publicly available professional sources, such as operators’ official websites. Operators can ask us to correct a listing or use the listing-claim process to manage eligible locations.

How we use information

We use information to provide the directory, manage accounts and listings, process plans and payments, respond to requests, route inquiries, maintain security and improve the website. Optional Analytics helps us understand how the directory is used and prepare summary performance reports for camp listings.

Camp operators may receive summary counts of listing impressions, profile views and referral actions. These reports are separate from the personal details you choose to send in an inquiry.

Contact forms and camp inquiries

If you send an inquiry from a camp listing, the information you supply may be provided to the camp operator or listing manager so they can respond. General website messages are handled by Summer Camp Hub. Do not include payment-card numbers, medical records or other sensitive information in these forms.

A visit to an operator’s website or registration service is subject to that operator’s own privacy practices. Summer Camp Hub does not receive completed registration details merely because someone clicks an outbound link.

Google Analytics and Search Console

We use Google Analytics 4 only after Analytics is allowed in this browser. It measures activity such as visible listing impressions, profile views, confirmed form submissions and clicks to websites, registration pages, phone numbers or email links. Analytics uses browser identifiers and can process device, referral and approximate location information.

Our custom listing events do not send the contents of your messages, payment details, email addresses or phone numbers to Google. We do not use Analytics for personalized advertising. Logged-in website users are excluded from Analytics reporting.

Google Search Console provides search-performance information, including search impressions, clicks, queries and average position. It is separate from optional browser Analytics.

Microsoft Clarity heatmaps and session recordings

With your Analytics consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how adults use eligible public directory pages, through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and masked session recordings. This helps us improve navigation and camp-listing pages. Clarity may process page visits, clicks, scrolling, timing, device/browser information, IP address and cookie identifiers. It uses first-party cookies and other tracking technologies after you allow Analytics.

Clarity is not loaded before Analytics consent, and we keep it off when a supported Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal is present. We exclude logged-in users, administrative and advertiser dashboards, accounts, checkout, payment, contact and other sensitive pages. Pages with query strings are excluded. Page content, including forms and personal content, is masked before collection. We do not send names, email addresses, inquiry contents or custom visitor identifiers to Clarity.

Microsoft processes the usage information it receives to provide Clarity and for the purposes described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. This can include service improvement, security and fraud prevention. We send advertising-storage consent as denied and do not enable Microsoft Ads personalization through these controls. Microsoft may process data outside Canada.

You can withdraw Analytics consent using Privacy & cookie settings. Withdrawal stops the active Clarity recorder, denies storage consent and removes accessible first-party Clarity cookies; data already processed is not automatically deleted. Browser settings can also remove cookies. We do not provide visitor recordings, identifiable visitor data or access to the Clarity project to camp advertisers. Any advertiser engagement reports use only eligible summary information for that advertiser’s own listing.

Cookies and your choices

Essential storage supports functions such as security, sign-in, checkout and remembering your privacy choices. Optional Analytics and external maps/videos are off until you allow them.

You can choose Analytics and external media separately. The privacy controls do not enable advertising personalization. We remember your choice in this browser for up to six months; clearing your browser storage or using another browser may cause the choices to appear again.

Use Privacy & cookie settings, also available in the footer, to withdraw consent or change your choices. Withdrawing Analytics consent stops future custom Analytics events and removes accessible Analytics cookies. Some changes take effect on the next page load; information already processed is not automatically erased. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings.

We keep Analytics off when the browser sends a supported Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Browser restrictions and consent choices mean our reports do not count every visitor.

External services and sharing

We use service providers to host and secure the website, deliver messages, process payments and support optional Analytics. Information is shared as needed to provide those functions. Stripe’s payment processing is subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.

If you allow external media, maps or videos can connect your browser to providers such as Google Maps and YouTube. Those providers may receive your IP address and use their own cookies or storage under their privacy policies. The website’s brand fonts are served from our website rather than requested from Google Fonts by your browser.

Providers may process information outside your province or Canada, where different privacy laws and lawful-access rules can apply. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users or legal rights.

Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described here and as needed to maintain accounts and listings, handle inquiries, resolve disputes and meet accounting, tax or other legal obligations. Different records have different retention needs. Analytics data is subject to the retention settings in our Google Analytics account, and aggregate reports can be kept longer than individual event records.

We use access controls and other safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials private.

Access, corrections and privacy requests

Contact our Privacy Contact at thesummercamphub@gmail.com to ask about our practices, request access or corrections, request deletion, withdraw consent or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity or authority before acting. Some information may need to be retained for legal, security or transaction-related reasons; we will explain applicable limitations.

Children’s information

This directory is intended for parents, guardians and camp operators. We do not need children’s names, dates of birth, medical details or registration records to help you search for camps. Please keep such information out of searches, public listings and reviews, and use the camp operator’s appropriate registration channels when it is needed.

Updates

We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. Where a change requires a new choice, we will seek that choice rather than treating continued browsing as consent to optional tracking.
