Alberta Society of Fiddlers hosted its summer fiddle camp at Deer Valley Meadows, 39017 Range Road 230, near Alix in Lacombe County, Alberta. The historical 2026 camp ran August 16–21, with Sunday registration from 3pm in the Dining Hall and Friday breakfast and farewells at 8:30am. 2027 summer dates are not confirmed.

This family-friendly music camp welcomed participants of different ages, with fiddle, piano accompaniment, guitar accompaniment and acoustic jam classes, plus a room for crafters. Minors must attend with a responsible adult who is not an instructor. Parents or chaperones supervise children outside classes; this is not a supervised drop-off children’s camp.

Fiddle classes were listed at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels; the published policy requires novice fiddle students to play three easy tunes. Piano accompaniment requires basic chords in three keys, and guitar accompaniment requires D, G, A, C and E chords. Students bring their own instruments; piano students need a keyboard with at least 61 full-size keys. Instructors determine fiddle placement after the opening jam. Students under 18 must attend a daily workshop.

The programme included instruction, jams, concerts, a family dance and a student variety show. Accommodation choices included rooms or campsites, with meal arrangements available. Room guests bring their own bedding. Contact the camp director for current availability and registration requirements.
