Camp Potlatch is operated by BGC South Coast BC at its 133-acre waterfront wilderness property on Howe Sound, British Columbia. The boat-access camp hosts overnight youth and leadership programs. Its Vancouver offices and Britannia Beach post-office box are not the physical camp venue. Contact camp@bgcbc.ca or 604-324-2267 for registration and departure arrangements. The dates below are historical 2026 information; 2027 sessions are not confirmed here.
Main Camp was for ages 7–14: June 30–July 5; July 5–10; July 14–19; July 19–24; July 28–August 2; August 2–7; August 11–16; and August 16–21, 2026. Campers try activities including archery, crafts, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, hiking and rock climbing. Every Main Camp participant takes a 24-hour off-site camping trip reached by land or sea.
Leadership Camp 1 was for age 15. Girls’ sessions were June 30–July 10, July 28–August 7 and August 11–21; boys’ sessions were July 14–24 and August 11–21, 2026. Campers new to Potlatch could participate. Extended hiking and canoeing trips require appropriate gear and readiness for wilderness camping. Leadership Camp 2 was coed for age 16, June 30–July 19 or July 19–August 7, 2026. It requires previous outdoor camping experience, maturity and a commitment to being a role model. Participants undertake multi-night trips and a three-to-four-day Main Camp cabin placement alongside staff. Leadership campers must complete the additional leadership application to secure a place.
A completed medical form, arrival health screening and mandatory head-lice check are required. Campers with lice or nits are sent home for treatment; parents arrange subsequent transport with the coordinator. The camp is nut aware and does not serve or store nuts, but cannot guarantee no exposure. No outside food is allowed. Discuss complex diets or serious allergies before booking. Cabins are grouped by gender identity and age; Leadership Camp 2 shares coed cabins or tents. Shower facilities are shared and campers wear swimsuits. Phones and electronics are stored until departure.
