Catalyst Theatre offered a historical three-week Musical Theatre Bootcamp at Allard Hall, MacEwan University, 11110 104 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta, on July 6–24, 2026. The programme recommended performers aged 16–20; admission was selective rather than automatic.
The 2026 schedule was Monday–Friday, 9am–4:30pm, with extended days on July 23 and 24. Training covered singing, acting, text interpretation, movement and choreography, rehearsal techniques and performance, culminating in a musical showcase.
Applicants needed a headshot, a one-page account of acting, singing and dance or movement experience, and monologue and song recordings of up to two minutes each. A combined video was permitted, but each monologue or song had to use one continuous take. The song needed accompaniment without another singer’s vocals. Applications were assessed for enthusiasm and experience, with limited places.
