Easter Seals BC/Yukon hosts accessible summer overnight and family camps at Camp Squamish, 41015 Government Road, Brackendale, Squamish, British Columbia. Programs serve children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. Contact campregistration@eastersealsbcy.ca or 1-800-818-4483 to discuss eligibility and support arrangements. The dates below are historical 2026 information.

For ages 6–18, New Camper Weekend was June 20–21, 2026. Kids weeks were July 6–10, July 13–17 (Island Focused Kids) and July 27–31. Adult YAC sessions were June 29–July 3, July 20–24 (Island Focused YAC) and August 3–7; the dated 2026 table publishes the adult eligibility as ages 19–49+. Confirm individual adult eligibility with the registrar. Island Focused early registration was available to previous Camp Shawnigan campers or new campers with a Vancouver Island primary address. Once general registration opened, all campers had equal opportunity to register; the Camp Director could consider unique situations. If primary caregivers require a Vancouver Island ferry to collect a dismissed camper, an alternative adult must be available to collect that camper within two hours.

Family Camp ran August 12–14 or August 14–16, 2026, for families with a child or adult with a disability. Each family had a private room shared by its own members, or could bring a tent. Medical beds were limited and had to be requested. Family check-in was 3 pm; checkout was noon–1:30 pm, with lunch at 12:30 pm. Families chose activities at their own pace, with some scheduled activity slots. Summer family camps typically had one or two nurses for assistance and emergencies; confirm personal care arrangements before booking.

Camp Squamish offers an indoor swimming pool, ropes activities, a big swing, crafts, basketball and other games, campfires, life skills and opportunities to build confidence. The individual overnight program normally provides one direct-care staff member for three campers. A camper needing physical or behavioural care beyond that support ratio requires a suitable Personal Support Worker arranged and paid for by the family. The worker needs a separate application before the camper can be confirmed, must be at least 17, and must supply an original criminal record check including a vulnerable-sector search. Parents may serve as their camper’s worker only during New Camper Weekend, with the required application and a criminal record check from the preceding six months. Families attending Family Camp should discuss their care arrangements separately.

New Camper Weekend also helps the operator assess support needs. New campers may register for the introductory weekend plus a full week; other campers were initially limited to one session, with a possible later registration round if space remained. A Medical Update Form is required when medical information has changed, completed within five days before camp; the Initial Assessment Form is completed within two days before camp. Both are brought to drop-off. Use the operator’s confirmation package for final check-in times. Phones are not permitted; a calming or sleep-support music-device exception can sometimes be arranged in advance with the coordinator.
