Keats Camps hosts summer overnight camps on Keats Island in Howe Sound, British Columbia. The physical camp is on the island and is accessible by boat; its North Vancouver office and the Vancouver and Gibsons departure points are not camp venues. These are historical 2026 programs, not confirmed 2027 dates. Christian teaching, singing, cabin discussions and leadership development form part of the experience.

2026 camper eligibility is published by birth year: Buccies, born 2016–2018, June 29–July 6 or July 27–31, with the latter a four-night camp; Seafarers, born 2014–2015, June 29–July 6; Mariners, born 2013–2015, July 6–13, July 13–20 or August 3–10; Explorers, born 2009–2012, July 20–27, August 10–17 or August 24–31. Use these exact birth-year bands to choose a program and confirm any exception directly with camp.

The 2026 LEAD programs combine Christian discipleship, service and recreation. Deckhand is for youth born 2010–2011, described as ages 15–16; verified sessions are June 29–July 13, August 3–17 and August 17–31. Its second July session is held because of a published date typo. Deckhands help with meal service, dishes and cleanup. Crew is for youth born 2009–2010, described as ages 16–17; sessions are June 29–July 13, July 13–31, August 3–17 and August 17–31. Crew develops cabin-leadership skills and supports camp operations. Previous Deckhand attendance is not required; multiple Crew sessions are possible.

Both LEAD programs require an application, waitlist and interview, with selection rather than first-come admission. Historical 2026 applications opened January 17 and interviews began in March. Acceptance is not guaranteed. Session capacities are six male and six female Deckhands, and 12 male and 12 female Crew participants. LEAD participants use Pilot House cabins and bring bedding.

Available activities include archery, crafts, field games, low and high ropes, climbing, ziplining, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, tubing, wakeboarding and seal spotting. Activities vary with program and conditions. Camper cabins have bathroom facilities and resident senior and junior cabin leaders; campers bring their own bedding.

Complete required registration and medical forms, including the child’s PHN or Care Card information. The operator sends a Welcome Aboard package about two weeks before camp with current travel, packing and check-in instructions. Summer transport is advertised from Harbour Cruises at 501 Denman Street in Vancouver, with a Gibsons Marina option at 675 Prowse Road that requires contacting the office at least one week ahead. Confirm the exact session’s departure and return arrangements from the Welcome Aboard package.

Discuss dietary needs with camp; special diets carry a surcharge and the kitchen cannot guarantee against cross-contamination. Prescription medications must be in their original containers and are handed to the nurse; the operator asks families not to send generic over-the-counter medicines. Phones and other electronics are held for the session, including when parents have given permission for phone use. Pickup requires an authorized person with matching photo identification; early release must be arranged in writing. Cabinmate requests are considered but not guaranteed. Use Any age search and the exact birth-year and selection rules above; consult the official site for current programs and availability.
