UBC Physics & Astronomy offers Phenomenal Physics summer day camps for children in Grades 1–6 at the university’s Vancouver campus. Campers explore physics through practical experiments and building projects, with activities such as making planes, launching rockets and creating flashlight circuits. A certified BC teacher works with university students and high-school volunteers.
The 2026 camps are full and registration is closed. The official registration page says 2027 registration will open next spring; confirm the new schedule, grade groups, availability and fees directly with UBC before planning attendance. Eligibility is grade based.
Families receive classroom and pickup instructions before camp. Bring a packed lunch and avoid nuts. Before- and after-camp care is not offered. A parent or the camper’s own support worker may attend when needed; discuss support arrangements with the organizer.
